CAMERA OBSCURA

(2006, 2'40", 16mm & 35mm, b&w with painted colour)
WATCH FILM
A man discovers he is joined to the wall of his office by a giant umbilical cord.
The film stars Neil Edmond and Biljana Lipic (who also choreographs her own dance sequences) and was once again a collaboration with cinematographer John Adderley.
'Camera Obscura' is my first year film on the MA Animation course at the Royal College of Art and was originally displayed as part of an installation (see below).
John Adderley shot the film using mainly his Arri SR2 Super 16 camera. He shot additional material on two hand-cranked cameras: his 35mm Williamson Paragon Kinematograph and a hand-built 16mm camera kindly lent by George Duck.
After editing the film I added colour to certain elements by painting directly onto clear 35mm leader with glass paint, coloured ink and cel paint.
