| A video document of exhibitions and performances at the T1+2 Artspace in East London, featuring the artists Gustav Metzger, Otto Muehl and Ilona Sagar and curator Wolfe Lenkiewicz. It is my longest film to date and my first to be designed for DVD only. It is a video-recording of three exhibitions at the T1+2 Artspace, each one staged while the gallery was at a different venue. | ||
| The video is available only as a DVD which breaks down into five chapters: | ||
| 1. A Walk Around T1+2 In 2003 (7'14") | ||
| 2. Gustav Metzger: 100,000 Newspapers (17'57"): a record of Gustav Metzger's installation and performance '100,000 Newspapers' on 21st-23rd January 2003. I filmed the artist's three performances, as well as his preparations and two short interviews. I had the unique opportunity to film him at work. | ||
| 3. Otto Muehl: Electric Painting Films (13'55"): a recording of a question and answer session with Otto Muehl on 23rd October 2003, along with footage of his exhibition 'Electric Painting Films'. Through careful editing I dispay footage of the paintings and films in the exhibition on one side of the screen, with Otto talking about his work on the other. This causes unexpected juxtapositions and coincidences. | ||
| 4. Ilona Sagar: Grandeur Mass (Auditoria) (20'55"): a recording of performance by recent Goldsmiths graduate Ilona Sagar entitled 'Grandeur Mass (Auditoria)' on 6th November 2008. The performance was filmed in real time, so the viewer gradually becomes a spectator like those in the gallery space. By the end, the viewer is also immersed in the gossip that is happening all around off-camera. | ||
